A Bike-riding event around Crystal Lake to Help Families in Need in Benzie County

The Story

We all know that times are tough (and getting tougher!) for many residents of our Benzie County community. Lack of jobs, plus soaring food and gas prices have all taken a toll and put an unprecedented strain on families in need. The Benzie Human Services Collaborative organization has been addressing these issues and helping children and their families for 13 years. But state funding has been cut and we find that we need to look elsewhere in order to provide some of the same helpful services and programs as we have in the past.

So, the Wheels4Wellness was born. Proceeds from the registration fees will go towards funding programs and emergency services like shoes and clothing for children, emergency home repairs, and parent education.

When: Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 9:30 a.m.
Where: The Beulah Village Park on Crystal Lake
Why: To help local families in need with food, clothing, and emergency services like heating and transportation. This is part of a greater effort from many funding sources to help those who find themselves out of work and struggling to make ends meet. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Cost: $40 pair, $25 Single, $50 Family
